I am here to tell you about why we, the users of Deviant Art, cannot use screenshots as evidence against another person.
As displayed below, it clearly says, "We cannot accept screenshots as evidence of harassment or abuse" or whatever you are making the report for.
Would you like to know why that is? I can tell you in just a few screenshots here:

Without telling you yet, can you tell which screenshots are legit and which are not?
Two of those screenshots are from two different people claiming that someone was threatening to rape them. One shows a user, who is now banned, threatening to rape me. The final one is of a user giving me permission to feature their work in one of my Facebook pages, they are an active user.
I have been working with photoshop for a little over 10 years now, as I was in Commercial Art in high school where we used Photoshop a lot for advertising and graphic designing. I may be rusty in a lot of features, especially since the programs have been revamped over the years, I do know how to photoshop in a name over another's name. But I don't need photoshop to do that for me. I just need just about any art program with a copy paste feature to do that.
The top two screen shots are faked. The name "charikitten" was, obviously, added in over a name that did send the message, originally.
You can even take these screenshots, including these two here that are the actual sized screenshots:
And compare them to your own notes on Deviant Art.
Now the reason why Deviant Art will not accept screenshots as proof. Well, this is exactly why. People can, easily, fake images to appear as though someone else is the bad guy. Here. I can show you, as well.

I just edited the image of satouriW to me, making it look like satouriW sent himself the message:
Now it looks like I sent the message to satouriW:
The point is, because Deviant Art is a website of artists, especially really skilled ones, it is easy to fake an image to appear as though someone else sent a message like "I'm going to rape you" or "I'm going to kill you". This is why Deviant Art will not accept screenshots as proof against the person you are reporting.
Sadly, people continue to do things like this. I am beyond hateful against people lying like this. Especially to claims of rape or being threatened by someone. I, already, had to deal with this myself when I was younger, involving my uncle, and I don't want to see others being falsely convicted for a crime they never committed. I am glad Deviant Art does not take screenshots as evidence as it helps keep users safe from false claims. Thank you, Deviant Art.
