More Deviant Art troubles

As we all know, I made a post about Deviant Art slowly going downhill, having protecting the top end, high paying artists and not the little guys like the rest of us. Please see "Is Deviant Art going downhill?" to read more.

We, also, know I made a post about why we cannot use screenshots as proof to report others on Deviant Art. How they can be easily manipulated through any art program. Please see "DA: Why we can't use screenshots as proof" to read more.

Our troubles don't stop there. After recent updates to Deviant Art, it has come to our attention that Deviant Art is in financial trouble. They had to make an agreement with another company to raise prices on memberships so to help keep Deviant Art open.

In the journal entry, Some perspective on Core membership, DA senior member, DamaiMikaz, tries to give users another perspective about the whole Core membership deal, even linking a couple journals, explaining why Deviant Art had to raise prices. While I do appreciate the new perspective and it is true that we do not need a Core membership just to use Deviant Art, I still hold onto the fact that DA is going downhill.

Why, you ask? Here's why.

In my "Is Deviant Art going downhill?" post, I talked about the increased number of art thieves on DA. Well, to be honest, art thieves are going to be everywhere, not just one website. The fact that DA changed their Terms & Conditions so not to punish art thieves as heavily when reported is what is causing the problem, and most likely why they were forced to switch to Core instead of their own, raising prices. That isn't all of it. Deviant Art has, also, after an increase of reports of trolls showing up on DA in the past month, disabled our ability to report users.

Why did they do this? Why did they choose to disable our ability to report the DA trolls who have been purposely terrorizing other users based on their art style, personal looks, etc.? User, Koili, made the statement about how we cannot help other users anymore, which means anyone could be heavily harassed now at any time, leaving the rest of legit DA users helpless. Please see Well. by Koili to read more.

There isn't much else on this information as DA admins have not given a legit explanation as to why they did this, but that better mean they are going to go into overdrive with monitoring users from now on. Half the users on DA are under 18, just barely over the allowed age (13) to be on DA. Some of these kids will do horrible things to themselves because of cyber bullying. We need the ability to report troll users.

I ask again...
